Unique handmade Japanese tapestry - kimono remake - eagle and magic mallet

A unique tapestry hand made of dead stock kimono fabric, featuring a fierce eagle, and one of the legendary heavenly treasures- magic mallet- and other traditional patterns.

The front is a never used, printed silk, intended to be made into a festive kimono for boys. It shows an eagle, symbol of strength and courage, soaring over various items and foliage- such as pine trees, symbolizing longevity and good fortune. The green, brown, and gray shades are contrasted with vermillion, purple, golden, and glittery accents.
The back is finished with repurposed vintage kimono fabric in teal shade. The tapestry is mounted on a short wooden pole. The black rope is a repurposed obijime, a decorative thin cord usually used to secure an obi. The knots are pre-made and stitched together to hold the shape. Both the rope and the wooden pole are removable.
Tassels weighting down the fabric are synthetic.
The tapestry is reinforced with some fusible backing.
