“Brief History

The smallest model of Sharp’s programmable calculator family introduced in 1979 as a member of the EL-500 series of calculators designed for educational purposes. The new calculator based on the SC43319A chip placed in the housing of the EL-5812. Its curiosities includes the unusual „ON/OFF” common on/off button. In addition to standard scientific functions it can hold programs up to 31 steps and has 4 more memory registers (K1..K4). This calculator can be used to calculate repeated calculations.”
