A unique miniature plate in Satsuma-yaki style. It's hand made and hand painted with gold and glass enamel.
Traditionally, white Satsuma pottery was made only for the ruling class, making it an exclusive and luxurious item.

These cups are intended for chawan mushi- steamed savory egg custard, but can be used as well for drinks or sweets. The decoration depicts a small blue bird on a pomegranate tree branch. The edges are finished with gold. The background is in eggshell white. The cracking glaze shows unique hairline pattern.
The cups slightly vary in size. It is quite common among items intended for couples.
The set is in a mint condition. There is the name of the studio written on the bottom. The original wooden box is signed with the studio name and the name of the artisan. There are also red artisan stamps.
